PETER MARKL BERICHTET VON DER ART SALZBURG 2014

Bereits zum 8. Mal findet 2014 die internationale Kunstmesse ART SALZBURG während der Salzburger Festspiele statt. Heuer ist auf dem Gelände der Salzburger Residenz im Hof Dietrichsruh eine elegante, vollklimatisierte Messehalle errichtet worden, die Sala Terrena nebenan beherbergt weitere Ausstellungsplätze. Diesmal ist die Konzentration auf hohe Qualitätsansprüche gerichtet, denen die 28 Aussteller voll gerecht werden. Der barocke Hof ist in einen stimmigen Garten verwandelt, der zum Verweilen einlädt. Preview und Vernissage waren hochkarätig besucht, die perfekte Messeorganisation wurde von Besuchern und Ausstellern gelobt.

Klassische Moderne und Jugendstil sind wie immer gut vertreten doch auf exclusive Stücke reduziert. Neben Sammlerperlen von Schiele, Poliakoff, Kirchner, Chagall, Hundertwasser ist der unaufhaltsame Trend zur Contemporary Art hervorzuheben: So haben Irene und Manfred Schütz haben neben dem traditionellen Kunsthandel schon seit Jahren den internationalen Weg erkannt und mit dem neu gegründeten Chinese Department Werke der bedeutenden chinesischen Künstler Wang Xiaosong (war schon im Vorjahr im Wiener Künstlerhaus präsent) und Hua Li (Chongqing 1980) nach Europa und auf die ART SALZBURG gebracht. Roy Lichtensteins Mobile “Landscape” ist nicht zu verachten, Neben Andy Warhol war er der wohl bekannteste Vertreter der Kunstrichtung Pop Art. Immer stimmig sind die Time Guards des österreichischen Universalkünstlers Manfred Kielnhofer”. Sie hüten auch in Salzburg die Zeit. Galerie 2C for ART Christoph Haas führt mit dem aus Südafrika stammenden niederländischen Künstler Joseph Klibansky in eine irrlichternde Welt des Großstadtdschungels. Ansonsten noch zu sehen sind Werke fast alle Künstler des Larry Gagosian Imperiums.
“Wir erwarten trotz der geringeren Ausstellungsfläche mehr als 10.000 Besucher”, so die ART SALZBURG-Sprecherin Vanecek-Pelz. In den vergangenen Jahren waren 8000 bis 9000 Besucher gekommen und haben “mehrere Millionen Euro” ausgegeben und man geht davon aus, dass die Umsätze heuer noch steigen werden.

Art Salzburg 2014 – in neuer Location mit 38 Ausstellern
