We are so proud of each of you! The selection process was not easy because of the high quality of the semi-finalists submissions. The range of design styles, materials and concepts, as well as the geographic diversity of the artists, exceeded our expectations. The Semi-finalists alone hailed from 4 countries and 11 states and represented a very select group of accomplished artists. The Bench Committee, giving heavy weight to the underwriter’s choice, had a very tough job indeed. You represent a very select group of artists!
As you begin construction, please remember that design standards require that the bench be able to withstand weather and wear for a minimum of 5 years. Also you will recall that delivery is due in The Woodlands on or before October 1, 2014. We will be in touch with you later with delivery instructions. We hope that you will be able to join us for the festivities in October and will send you more information on the “unveiling” as it develops.
On more mundane matters, please reply to this email to confirm receipt and email me the exact wording/spelling of your name and the name of your bench (or “untitled”) as you would like it to appear on the bronze plaque that will be installed alongside your bench.
We look forward to seeing your bench in October!! Congratulations to you — as a 2014 Woodlands Waterway Art Bench Finalists!!
